Finishing Day.

Yesterday was a dreary day here so I got up late and decided what better time to finish things. First I finished the book I was reading...."King of Torts," by John Grisham....it was okay but wouldn't particularly recommend it. Later I finished the hand hand quilting on my Apple Quilt! That's it, enough already...I just kept thinking, just another round here or another round there...but now I know that's it. The binding is done the label went on before I quilted it. ( someone said it is good to quilt through the label to save it from theft ) It even has it's own bag ( a red satin pillowcase I saw in a sale bin) I am pleased with my effort and am well ready to get on with other projects. Taking decent photos is one of the most difficult parts. The colours here are reasonably true but it is actually flatter and squarer than it looks here.

I think it looks wonderful! Your apples almost look 3D, in the border. :) and the quilting looks great.

Had an avocado for lunch yesterday (sliced on my turkey sandwich) and thought of you. Doesn't the internet make the world so much smaller?

Love the apple quilt. The green is perfect to set off the color of the apples.

This is so pretty. The colors are great, and the quilting really makes the quilt. I'm going to have to hand quilt something. It adds such a special touch.

Congratulations on finally decided you had done enough quilting, Alison. I really love it especially the little apple details that you have done in the quilting.
Like the back fabric as well.

Thanks for your generous comments ladies.I know liking something myself should be enough, but some reinforcement from others is the confirmation that gives one an extra little buzz! It is so pleasant having you all visit me here Cheers Alison.

I'm a bit late visiting (been away) but I'm going to add my comment anyway because I like any fabric with fruit on it and this looks great - just the right contrast between the green and the red.
P.S. I keep looking out for Zespri Kiwi fruit but all the ones in our shops at the moment seem to be from Chile! Maybe I'll have to mount a campaign for NZ kiwi fruit.

Thanks for stopping by my new blog! I like how in the apple quilt you were able to use red and green without looking christmasy. I love that color combo, but shy away from it for that very reason (instead I've done some things with green and orange/yellow.)
