Jazz Steam Train Journey.

Here it is; but I think they have forgotten something - where are we going to sit?
I took too many photos..so today I will show you what we saw outside the train. ( tomorrow inside )
the highwayMaize fields.
Inland Papmoa
Kid's art in Te Puke.
The dunes and sea near Maketu.
R looking out the window on the way back.
This is my favourite photo, near Hauone.
(All the photo enlarge with clicking )
Food and drink was available and the ladies from Back Porch Cafe came around with big baskets of food. This souvenir was probably for the kids but I got one anyway. I will eat it ( Shortbread ) later.

Seems I would have known quite a few folks on your journey a group went from here also, but I knew I would have to be with family this weekend so declined.... bet you had a great time though.... so I am guessing you would not have been home if I had needed a cuppa Sunday on way back from the beach...you would have been forgiven as it was I needed to get back home by certain hour.

As you can imagine Ali, these photos brought a lump to my throat. I loved Maketu as a child!
I rather like that type of Jazz music, & though I am not a train person, could imagine the trip would have been wonderful.
Thanks for sharing.
