My rainbow coloured quilt bag is finished but is very much larger than I expected.
This shows the gathered in end with cord and toggles to hold it closed.
It's very difficult to take a decent photo but here's what it looks like. It is huge and would hold 3 middle sized quilts or one kingsized. It is symetrical though doesn't look it in this photo. The handles didn't seem long enough on the pattern's measurements, so I made them longer, but once sewn on I can see that they would have worked so I'll try it like it is but may shorten them which would be quite simple. I've had little time to blog this week and have more visitors arriving tomorrow, so I'm extra busy. ( so sorry if I haven't commented much lately ) We have been eating small helpings of broad beans very young and tender and adding some tops too. See just how tall they have grown!
At first glance I thought I was seeing a collapsed hot air balloon! Very colourful and practical! There aren't many bags would hold three full sized quilts! I'm sure you'll get lots of use from it.
Quilting is a wonderful hobby for me. I love the beautiful fabric and colours - my artistic side comes alive.
I have lived in Te Puna near Tauranga
since 1978. Recently retired after 40 years working on our own small orchard where we grew Kiwifruit and Avocados for export. We have a large garden and grow many fruit, nuts, vegetables and flowers. Our new property runs down to an estuary.. When I was young I was a teacher and particularly liked teaching art. I have also worked in the Kiwifruit Industry in Quality Control and Auditing. I love to create and am currently passionate about patchwork and quilting. I sew by hand and using my Bernina Aurora 440 machine.

That's an interesting bag. I've never seen one designed like that.

The bag looks great. Is it summer now or is it still spring?
